The first step in your knowledge base for roulette is to know the wheel. I am only going to speak about the American style wheel, because it is what I have tested and proven my method with.
Memorizing the wheel is not the easiest thing in the world to do, but if accomplished can give you one of the biggest advantages you can get playing this game. In the figure below is the American style wheel. Let us look more in depth at this type of wheel.

On the left side of the wheel, starting from 13 and going until 20 the numbers are like this:

Middle=6 (this is 2/3 of this wheel section)
Top=2
Bottom=3

Other numbers on the left side…from 7 to 28 Top=3….Middle=3 and that pesky 1 next to the 00=Top. The same is true for the right side of the wheel starting from 14 counterclockwise to 19. Here are the numbers:
Middle=6 (this is 2/3 of this wheel section)
Top=2
Bottom=3


Other numbers on the right side are 8 to 27 once again equaling 3 to 3 for the Top and Bottom, with that pesky 2 next to the 0.
As you can see knowing the wheel can go in your favor if you can put together a couple of different concepts. Know the wheel and later watching the croupier’s habits.

There are many roulette betting systems in the world and mine is one of those systems. Some are better than other others and often times you cannot do well with certain systems because they are to compicated or written poorly. Below are three of the most popular strategies you will find out there. My strategy actually utilizes a couple of these strategies in small form to develop a greater and more logical strategy. Not only are these well known strategies in the manual in form, but my strategy is as well and you will be able to tell the difference in the money you walk away with after you learn my strategy and maybe even implement some of these other strategies making a hybrid of my strategy. That is all up to you, but I guarantee you, you will not need a hybrid.

Roulette tracking system

The roulette tracking system advises players to track the last ten to twenty spins at the table, and then bet on the numbers that have appeared more than they statistically should. The logic behind the roulette tracking system is that in the short run, certain numbers will appear more often than in the long run on roulette tables. By tracking the last 10-20 spins, gamblers think they can identify the "statically hot" numbers. To do well you must incorporate a couple of key ideas, do those numbers that are hot belong to a certain section of the wheel and do the numbers that surround those numbers come up more often as well? I have tested this theory and it seems to work about 12 percent of times for about 100 spins. So, if you do the math you may be in for a treat if you catch the break on the roll. This system is also known as the Andrucci System.

1st and 3rd column strategy

One bet of 2 pieces on the 1st column and one bet of 2 pieces on the 3rd column covers most of the red numbers on the table. One bet of 2 pieces on the black will provide insurance for occurrence of black. This betting system covers nearly all numbers except for the 4 red numbers in the middle column and the zero (and double zero in American Roulette). If the result is a red number in either the 1st or 3rd column, the player only breaks even. If the result is red in the middle column the player loses 6 pieces. If the result is black and in the middle column, the player loses 2 pieces. If the result is a black in the 1st or 3rd column, the player only wins 4 pieces.You could also use the game of the 2/3 that will give the player a maximum of 66.6% chance of win. This "strategy" breaks even in the long run, of course, for the simple reason that any linear combination of zero-expectation bets is itself zero-expectation. In this case, the notion that the black bet provides "insurance" against failure of the red bets overlooks the uneven amounts bet on red versus black and the relative probabilities of success of the various bets, singly or in combinations of two or three wager-components.

Mechanical strategies

There are a number of roulette strategies which take a more mechanical approach to breaking the casino. The most famous is the biased wheel attack. In the biased wheel attack, the player clocks the wheel to find statistical deviations indicating some flaw to the wheel. The biased wheel attack seeks to find imperfect wheels and exploit the fact that some wheels will return numbers more often than 1 in 35, which means there is potential to have an edge over the casino. Clocking the wheel involves taking spin results in great numbers to identify any opportunities.Casinos are aware of players who try and mechanically exploit roulette wheels and take protective measures by rotating wheels, changing dealers, and switching roulette ball sizes, making mechanical strategies virtually impossible.
